Sprawling over an area of 1 acre of land, the Tea Museum is an over 15 years old estate that allows you to know everything about the tea-making process. Entry Fee and Timings of the Tea Museum, Doddabetta
The entry fee to visit the Tea Museum in Doddabetta, Ooty is INR 15 per person for adults and INR 10 per person for children. In case you’re carrying a camera with you, you’ll need to pay INR 25 for it. For car parking, Tea Museum charges INR 25 per vehicle.
Coming to the timings, it opens its door for its visitors from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM on all days and the recommended exploration time is 30-minutes to 1 hour.
How to Reach the Tea Factory, Doddabetta?
Since the Tea Factory is located at a distance of only 8 km from Ooty Bus Stand, it can be easily accessed by all modes of local transportation. Depending on your comfort and style, you can either hire an auto-rickshaw, catch a bus, or hire a taxi from the list of top car rental companies in Ooty for a hassle-free commute.
Please note that Ooty doesn’t have its own airport. To reach Ooty by air, you need to fly to Coimbatore International Airport which is nearly a two-and-a-half-hour drive away. It’s the nearest airport to Ooty and receives frequent flights from almost all the metro cities of India such as Mumbai, New Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, etc.
Another way is to catch a train to Mettupalayam Railway Station to experience a smooth train journey to this little hamlet. Lastly, there is also an option of traveling in a public or a private bus operated by the TNSTC department to and from Ooty on an everyday basis.
