Parson's Valley Reservoir Ooty Address: 18km from ooty, Ooty, Tamil Nadu, 643004, India
Nature calls the strong hearted for a walk in the jungle. Enter at your own risk is all that can be said. There is no place for the weak and the scared in Parson's valley. If you want to describe the place in a single word, the place is WILD. You need permission from the Forest Department to visit Parson's valley as it is a reserved forest.
The place is on the Ooty Mysore road and can be entered either from the Ooty direction or the Mysore direction. Ooty direction is the more preferred and safer. The forest inhabits tigers and panthers, so be sure to stay in your designated path and not to be over adventurous and push your limits.

The dam and the storehouse have all the appearance of a ghost house and you are sure to find not a single tourist vehicle anywhere. The DFO does not give permission to enter the forest that often, and if you are that keen to see the area, it might take a bit more coaxing of the officials. But rest assured, the place is a dandy and is a thorough enjoyment for nature lovers and adventure seekers.
The uninhibited growth of the trees, creepers and crawlers and the chirping of strange birds and maybe the occasional growl of a tiger will capture your imagination, if not, it is sure to send a shiver down your spine. One sight quite common in these parts is the bison. Please do not intimidate them if you see a herd. Reasons are obvious.
