History of Karnataka Siri Horticulture Garden, Ooty

Developed by the horticulture department of Karnataka, the Karnataka Siri Horticulture Garden is relatively a new tourist attraction that has been constructed on a property which once belonged to the former king of Mysore. Later, in 1964, the land was given to the Karnataka government by the Maharaja in the form of a gift and since then, it was with the government itself.

After so many years, the Karnataka government thought to build something that can help them promote inter-state cooperation through tourism and that’s how the Karnataka Siri Horticulture Garden came into the picture. Finally, it was officially inaugurated in 2018 and the doors were open to the general public.

Please note that in case you have a camera with you, you’ll need to pay INR 50 for it as an entrance fee to this garden. For photoshoot, the cost is INR 1500 per day and for Drone camera shooting, the price is INR 5000 per day. Film shooting costs INR 50,000 per day.
